Answer 2 – I always tell my students not to tell this directly. Moreover, I want you to avoid discussing salary in the first interview. At the time of discussion, you must not tell your expectation in terms of salary. Instead, let the employer share the salary range they are offering. Also, you can ask in this in a soft and polite manner. Once you know the salary range, this is the time to expect more than the median. It means you need to expect the higher side of the salary offered. Yes, It works like this and it shows great confidence from your side. tell me why you should expect less for the skillset you have.

What salary do you think you deserve?

Most of the questions interviewers ask are to check your confidence and check your willingness to answer and deal with the situations. Also, how you communicate in different situations. Additionally, how positive and negative you can go in a given situation. Therefore, I advise my students to be positive and balanced as sometimes the interviewer is just checking your attitude.
