In a déjà vu moment, the 69th Filmfare Awards unfolded as history repeated itself, echoing the success of the power couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. The duo clinched the Best Actor Popular Awards for their outstanding performances in “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani” and “Animal,” respectively. This win echoes their previous victory at Filmfare 2020, where they secured the same top honors for “Raazi” and “Sanju.”
The spotlight of the night, however, extended beyond the star-studded couple. The films “12th Fail” and “Animal” emerged as big winners, sweeping multiple categories at the Filmfare Awards 2024. “12th Fail” not only bagged the prestigious Best Film award but also earned the Best Director title for Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
During the red carpet event, Alia Bhatt, the Best Actress awardee, was questioned about her iconic proposal to Ranbir during the 2020 Filmfare Awards. Her response was as heartwarming as her initial declaration of love. “Well! He still makes my eyes shine and my heart smile, so we have come a long way, but it’s still the same and that is what makes it special,” remarked Bhatt.
