Ayodhya, December 30, 2023: Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a significant visit to Ayodhya to inaugurate key developmental projects, including the Ayodhya railway station and the newly constructed Ayodhya airport. The visit is particularly notable as it precedes the historic inauguration of the Ram Mandir in the city, scheduled for January 22, 2024.
The day’s schedule commenced with the inauguration of the Ayodhya railway station at around 11:15 am, followed by the unveiling of the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham at approximately 12:15 pm. Both projects are integral to the infrastructural development of Ayodhya.
At 1 pm, Prime Minister Modi participated in a public program, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple developmental projects in Uttar Pradesh. These projects, totaling more than Rs 15,700 crore, aim to boost the overall progress of the state. Of this, around Rs 11,100 crore is allocated for the development of Ayodhya and its surrounding areas.
During the visit, the Prime Minister flagged off two new Amrit Bharat trains, including the Darbhanga-Ayodhya-Anand Vihar Terminal Amrit Bharat Express and the Malda Town-Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminus (Bengaluru) Amrit Bharat Express. Additionally, six new Vande Bharat Trains were inaugurated, connecting various destinations.
In a significant move to strengthen rail infrastructure, Prime Minister Modi dedicated to the nation three railway projects worth Rs 2,300 crore. These projects include the Rooma Chakeri-Chanderi third line project, sections of the Jaunpur-Ayodhya-Barabanki doubling project, and the doubling and electrification project of the Malhaur-Daliganj railway section.
The atmosphere in Ayodhya was charged with anticipation and excitement as preparations were underway for the visit. The historic event is a crucial step towards the much-awaited inauguration of the Ram Mandir, which is set to take place on January 22, 2024. This event will witness the participation of several prominent personalities and politicians, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
