In a significant development, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in India has declared Canada-based gangster Lakhbir Singh Landa as a terrorist. The announcement comes in the wake of Landa’s alleged involvement in various terror activities, including an attack on the Punjab State Intelligence Headquarters in Mohali in 2021.
Landa, son of Niranjan Singh and Parminder Kaur, is currently residing in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and is reportedly associated with the notorious terrorist group, Babbar Khalsa International—an organization listed as a terrorist entity.
The MHA has issued an open-ended warrant against Landa, accusing him of orchestrating a terror attack using a shoulder-mounted rocket-propelled grenade on the Punjab State Intelligence Headquarters. Furthermore, he stands accused of facilitating the supply of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), arms, sophisticated weapons, and explosives from across the border to various modules for executing terrorist activities in Punjab.
Lakhbir Singh Landa’s criminal record extends to his involvement in raising terror modules, extortion, killings, planting IEDs, smuggling weapons and narcotics, and utilizing funds for terrorist acts in Punjab and other parts of India.
The government alleges that Landa, supported by a cross-border agency, has been actively conspiring to disrupt peace, law, and order in Punjab. His purported plans include carrying out targeted killings, extortions, and other anti-national activities in different regions of India.
An open-ended warrant has been issued against Landa, and the government is moving to add his name to the list of designated terrorists. The situation is evolving, and authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant as they continue to monitor developments related to Lakhbir Singh Landa and his associates.
