We often hear the word SPAM everywhere – on social media, in emails, even in daily conversations. But what does it truly mean? Is spam just about “useless messages” or is there something deeper hidden inside this word?
Let’s understand it through a real story.
A Simple Story: When Free Was Not Welcome
Some time ago, I shared my FREE Digital Marketing Course.
It was not a sales pitch.
It was not a trap.
It was not even “Buy one, Get one free.”
It was absolutely free for life.
Yet, the post was deleted. And within minutes, DD (the authority of that group) replied.
Now you may ask – Why?
If something is free, helpful, and with no catch, why would anyone call it spam?
The answer lies not in the content itself, but in the feelings it triggered.
When Authority Feels Threatened
The truth is simple:
Spam is not always about what you share.
Spam is about how the other person feels when you share it.
In that moment, my free course post made the authority of the group feel challenged.
They felt their position was threatened.
And when people feel their power or influence is at risk, they act fast – delete, block, or silence.
That is why my free offer, even though valuable, was treated as spam.
The Alex Hormozi Example
Now let’s compare.
When people talk about Alex Hormozi in the same community, no one deletes it, no one replies angrily.
Why?
Because Alex Hormozi does not feel like a direct threat to that authority. He is distant, global, and not competing for the same space.
But when someone inside the same circle rises and offers real value, it shakes the comfort zone.
And suddenly, that same valuable post becomes spam.
So, What Really Is Spam?
We usually think spam means:
Unwanted emails
Random promotional messages
Fake offers
But the deeper truth is this:
👉 Spam is not always about the content. Spam is about the feeling the other person gets.
If they feel disturbed → It’s spam.
If they feel threatened → It’s spam.
If they feel their control is shaken → It’s spam.
Even a free gift can be spam.
Even a noble message can be spam.
It’s all about the perception of the receiver.
The Lesson for All of Us
So next time you think, “Why was my helpful post deleted?” – remember this story.
Spam is not always about the message.
Spam is about the comfort zones and authority levels of the people who control the platform.
If they feel safe, your content shines.
If they feel threatened, even the best offer looks like spam.
💡 Final Thought:
True spam is not always in the message.
True spam is in the mind of the one who feels disturbed by it.
