In a spectacular display of religious fervor, the sacred city of Varanasi is ablaze with activity as it joins the nation in celebrating the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The evening at Dashashwamedh Ghat will be graced by a grand ‘Ganga Maha Aarti,’ synchronizing with the historic event in Ayodhya.
Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is witnessing elaborate rituals in temples, with the revered Kashi Vishwanath temple leading the way. Vedic recitations have been echoing through the morning hours, creating an atmosphere charged with spiritual energy.
To ensure the community’s active participation in this momentous occasion, the Kashi Vishwanath temple has strategically installed two LCD screens within its complex. These screens will broadcast the live telecast of the ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony, allowing devotees to be a part of the historic event.
Adding a cultural touch to the festivities, the Indian Music Arts Center is set to present a captivating Kathak performance, complemented by various other programs.
As the sun sets, the entire Kashi Vishwanath temple will be illuminated with lamps, creating a mesmerizing sight. The Batuk Bhairav temple has been adorned with flowers, and an impressive 5,100 lamps will be lit in the temple complex, accompanied by the recitation of Sundar Kand.
Ganga Aarti, a daily ritual in Varanasi, will take on a special significance today. In honor of the consecration of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, the evening Ganga Aarti will be transformed into a ‘Maha Aarti,’ performed by nine Archakas instead of the usual seven.
Following the Aarti, devotees will be treated to soulful Ram Bhajans, and an enchanting Deepotsav will illuminate Dashashwamedh Ghat. Prasad will be distributed among the gathered devotees as a symbol of collective joy and unity.
Highlighting the community spirit, Sushant Mishra of the Ganga Seva Nidhi mentioned that boatmen are ferrying passengers across the river free of cost.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Ayodhya to partake in the consecration ceremony at the newly constructed Ram temple. He is expected to address a gathering, visit Kuber Tila, and interact with the ‘shramjeevis’ (workers) associated with the temple’s construction.
As the nation celebrates this historic day, Varanasi stands as a beacon of spirituality and cultural richness, embracing the festivities with open arms.
