Mary Kom Clarifies Retirement Rumors: "I Haven't Announced Retirement Yet"

In a recent turn of events, Indian boxing legend Mary Kom has categorically denied rumors surrounding her retirement from the sport. The six-time world champion addressed media reports that suggested she had hung up her boxing gloves, asserting that she has been misquoted.

Mary Kom Clarifies Retirement Rumors: "I Haven't Announced Retirement Yet"

Speaking to ANI, Mary Kom stated, “I haven’t announced retirement yet, and I have been misquoted. I will personally come in front of the media whenever I want to announce it. I have gone through some media reports stating that I have announced retirement, and this is not true.”

The confusion arose when media reports quoted Mary Kom during an event in Dibrugarh, where she was said to have declared her retirement. However, the boxing icon clarified her statement, shedding light on her actual words.

“I was attending a school event in Dibrugarh on January 24, 2024, wherein I was motivating children, and I said, ‘I still have the hunger of achieving in sports, but the age limit in Olympics doesn’t allow me to participate, though I can carry on with my sport. I am still focusing on my fitness, and whenever I will announce retirement, I will inform everyone,'” Mary Kom explained.

Reports had suggested that Mary Kom, at 41 years old, had retired and was considering future endeavors related to boxing. Responding to these claims, she expressed her ongoing passion for the sport and her eagerness to compete and represent the country. She acknowledged the age restrictions imposed by the International Boxing Association (IBA) for Olympic participation but indicated that she might explore opportunities in professional boxing.

“If I say from my heart, I am still hungry to do something. I still want to compete and represent the country. But I am not being able to compete this year because of the age limit. But I will still try to do something related to boxing. (I) May go pro, but don’t know yet what I will do,” Mary Kom stated.

Despite facing setbacks due to a major injury and subsequent recovery, Mary Kom remains one of the most decorated boxers in the history of women’s boxing. With six world titles and eight World Championships to her name, she continues to inspire and challenge the boundaries of the sport. As the rumors swirl, Mary Kom stands firm, asserting that the day she decides to retire, she will make the announcement herself.

Kelley Blue Book: A Century of Evolution and Innovation

The roots of Kelley Blue Book trace back to 1918 when Les Kelley founded the Kelley Kar Company. Les Kelley, armed with three Model T Fords, embarked on a journey that would eventually revolutionize the way the automotive industry perceived and determined car values. Alongside him, his younger brother, Buster, played a pivotal role as a lot boy, contributing to the nascent stages of what would become a lasting legacy.

The pivotal moment in the company’s history occurred in 1926 when Kelley harnessed the data collected from the dealership and published the first Blue Book. This publication quickly gained recognition as a standard guide in the automotive trade, offering invaluable insights into determining the value of cars. Kelley Blue Book was officially formed that year, and the Kelley family continued their dealership business in Southern California for several more decades.

As the automotive landscape evolved, so did Kelley Blue Book. By the 1960s, the company underwent a transformation from being primarily a car dealership to a specialty publisher, with a focused emphasis on producing its automobile price guide. This period marked a significant shift in the company’s trajectory, solidifying its reputation as an authoritative source for vehicle valuation.

A groundbreaking move came in the 1990s when Kelley Blue Book embraced the digital era. In 1995, the company launched its official website, providing users with online access to tips and pricing information derived from its hardcopy guide. This online presence marked a strategic step forward, allowing Kelley Blue Book to adapt to changing consumer preferences and technological advancements.

The year 2010 marked another milestone in Kelley Blue Book’s journey when it was acquired by AutoTrader.com in December. Operating as a subsidiary of AutoTrader.com, Inc. after the acquisition, Kelley Blue Book continued its legacy under the umbrella of a well-established automotive entity.

In 2013, Kelley Blue Book expanded its horizons globally by forming an alliance with Bitauto Holdings Ltd., venturing into the vast and dynamic automotive market in China. This strategic move reflected the company’s commitment to reaching new frontiers and establishing itself as a global authority in vehicle valuation and automotive research.

In essence, Kelley Blue Book’s history is a tale of resilience, innovation, and adaptation. From its humble beginnings as a car dealership to becoming a pioneering force in automotive valuation, Kelley Blue Book has not only witnessed the evolution of the automotive industry but has actively shaped its trajectory for over a century.

Devotees Flock to Ayodhya Ram Temple in Droves, Authorities Ensure Orderly Darshan

Devotees Flock to Ayodhya Ram Temple in Droves, Authorities Ensure Orderly Darshan

Ayodhya, January 24, 2024: Two days after the grand ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony at the Ayodhya Ram Temple, a massive congregation of devotees gathered at Rampath today to offer prayers to Ram Lalla, braving the chilly weather. The scenes outside the temple showcased an overwhelming number of devotees eager to catch a glimpse of the deity.

Devotees Flock to Ayodhya Ram Temple in Droves, Authorities Ensure Orderly Darshan

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Ayodhya, Praveen Kumar, addressing the media, acknowledged the continuous influx of the crowd and appealed to devotees, especially the elderly and differently-abled, to plan their visits after two weeks. He emphasized that while the crowd is nonstop, the preparations are complete, reassuring the public that the temple will be open for everyone with enhanced arrangements.

Uttar Pradesh’s Director General of Police (DGP), Vijay Kumar, shared that a substantial number of police and security personnel have been strategically deployed in and around the Ram Temple premises to manage the surge of devotees. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony on Monday, unveiling the Ram Lalla idol.

DGP Kumar stated, “A sufficient force has been deployed inside, especially at the main points where devotees go for darshan, to ensure there is no excessive pressure. Traffic police, PCR, and water police have been deployed in full strength to ensure that incoming devotees face no inconvenience.”

The Rapid Action Force (RAF) has also played a crucial role in security arrangements, with Deputy Commandant Arun Kumar Tiwari assuring that around 1000 jawans have been deployed both inside and outside the temple. This deployment will continue for the next few days to ensure the safety and convenience of devotees.

In response to concerns about potential inconvenience for devotees, the DGP reassured that all necessary facilities are in place. “Whether 50 thousand devotees come together or any other number, they won’t have to wait, and all necessary facilities will be in place,” he added.

As per the latest updates from Uttar Pradesh government officials, approximately five lakh devotees have already offered prayers to Ram Lalla in Ayodhya’s Ram Temple on Tuesday, with a similar number of devotees eagerly awaiting their turn for darshan. The temple was officially opened to the general public on Tuesday after the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony on January 22, drawing devotees from across the country to witness this historic event.

Shahid Kapoor: A Fascinating Journey From Chocolate Boy to Bollywood Superstar

Early Life and Background: The Making of Shahid Kapoor

Shahid Kapoor’s journey began on February 25, 1981, in New Delhi, where he was born to thespian parents, actor Pankaj Kapur and actor-dancer Neelima Azeem. However, the story of his early life is marked by both the warmth of family and the challenges of a fragmented home.

At the tender age of three, Kapoor’s parents parted ways, leading to his father’s relocation to Mumbai and subsequent marriage to actress Supriya Pathak. Meanwhile, Shahid continued to reside in Delhi with his mother and maternal grandparents. Despite the separation, Shahid fondly remembers the daily walks to school with his grandfather, who regaled him with tales of his father and shared a special bond with him.

Living with his mother and maternal grandparents, Shahid’s connection with his father remained distant due to the latter’s struggling acting career in Mumbai. The annual birthday visits from his father became a poignant tradition during these formative years.

When Shahid turned ten, his mother, working as a dancer, moved to Mumbai to pursue her career in acting, and Shahid followed suit. In Mumbai, Neelima Azeem married actor Rajesh Khattar, marking a new chapter in Shahid’s life. However, by 2001, Azeem and Khattar separated, and Shahid continued to use the surname Khattar on his passport.

Shahid’s family tree comprises half-siblings from both sides—maternal half-brother Ishaan from his mother’s marriage to Khattar and paternal half-siblings Sanah and Ruhaan from his father’s union with Supriya Pathak.

Educationally, Shahid embarked on his academic journey at Gyan Bharati School in Delhi and later attended Rajhans Vidyalaya in Mumbai. His pursuit of education continued at Mumbai’s Mithibai College for three years.

Passion for Dance and Early Ventures:

Shahid Kapoor’s affinity for dance blossomed early, and at the age of 15, he enrolled at Shiamak Davar’s dance institute. As a student, he made his initial foray into the film world as a background dancer in iconic films like “Dil To Pagal Hai” (1997) and “Taal” (1999), where Davar served as the choreographer.

The turning point in his life came during a stage show at Davar’s institute, where Shahid mesmerized the audience with his performances in songs like “Vogue” and “GoldenEye.” This experience marked the first time he felt the electrifying sensation of being a star.

His journey with dance didn’t stop there; Shahid eventually became an instructor at the institute, showcasing his prowess and passion for the art form. During this phase, he unexpectedly landed a role in a Pepsi commercial, originally intended for a friend. This marked the beginning of his appearances in television commercials for brands like Kit Kat and Close-Up, as well as music videos for notable artists like Aryans and Kumar Sanu.

In a unique twist, Shahid took on the role of an assistant director to his father in the 1998 television series “Mohandas B.A.L.L.B,” adding another layer to his multifaceted introduction to the world of entertainment.

Thus, the early years of Shahid Kapoor’s life laid the foundation for his eventual ascent into the world of Bollywood, blending family ties, educational pursuits, a passion for dance, and unexpected opportunities that set the stage for his future stardom.

Shahid Kapoor’s Career: Early Struggles and Breakthroughs

Shahid Kapoor’s journey in Bollywood commenced with both challenges and triumphs, from his early years marked by perseverance to eventually becoming a breakout star.

Discovery and Debut: In the early 2000s, producer Ramesh Taurani spotted Shahid Kapoor in the music video “Aankhon Mein” by Aryans and saw the potential for a future Bollywood star. Despite Kapoor’s young age of 20, Taurani initially thought him too youthful and underweight for an acting career, advising him to wait a few more years. Shahid turned down a lead role in N. Chandra’s “Style” to pursue an opportunity with Taurani.

His breakthrough came with the teenage romance “Ishq Vishk” in 2003, directed by Ken Ghosh. Kapoor, who underwent extensive physical training for a more robust physique, portrayed Rajiv Mathur, a high-school student navigating a romantic entanglement with two classmates. The film, despite initial skepticism, became a sleeper hit, earning Kapoor the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.

Diverse Roles and Critical Acclaim: Post his debut, Shahid Kapoor delved into diverse roles, showcasing his versatility as an actor. In the thriller “Fida” (2004), he played a love-struck student manipulated into robbing a bank, earning praise for his performance despite the film’s overall criticism. The romantic comedy “Dil Maange More” (2004) followed, with Kapoor paired opposite three leading ladies. However, both films in 2004 faced commercial setbacks.

The year 2005 proved challenging as all three of Kapoor’s releases, including comedies “Deewane Huye Paagal” and “Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi!”, failed to make an impact at the box office. Despite the setbacks, critics acknowledged Kapoor’s likability, even in films that received mixed reviews.

In 2006, Kapoor saw success with two films opposite Kareena Kapoor— the thriller “36 China Town” and the comedy “Chup Chup Ke.” “Vivah,” a romantic drama directed by Sooraj Barjatya, proved to be a significant turning point. Despite critical reviews, the film’s worldwide success, grossing over ₹530 million (US$6.6 million) on a shoestring budget, established Kapoor as a bankable actor.

Commercial Success and Critical Reception: Kapoor’s collaboration with Kareena Kapoor in “36 China Town” marked his return to commercial success after a series of setbacks. The film, a murder mystery directed by Abbas–Mustan, showcased Kapoor as one of the prime suspects. Following this, the Priyadarshan-directed “Chup Chup Ke” portrayed him as a depressed man pretending to be deaf and mute.

The pinnacle of success for Kapoor in 2006 was “Vivah,” where he starred alongside Amrita Rao. The film’s budget constraints didn’t deter its widespread success, marking a significant milestone in Kapoor’s career. Despite negative reviews, Kapoor’s on-screen charm and box office draw began to overshadow critical opinions.

From Struggles to Stardom: Shahid Kapoor’s early career was characterized by a mix of setbacks and victories. His perseverance, diverse roles, and the ability to connect with the audience eventually led him to emerge as a rising star in Bollywood. As the years progressed, Kapoor’s journey continued with even more diverse and challenging roles, solidifying his status as a versatile actor in the Indian film industry. The saga of Shahid Kapoor’s career was just beginning, with much more stardom and success on the horizon.

Shahid Kapoor: Jab We Met, Kaminey, and Commercial Fluctuations (2007–2013)

Fool & Final and the Rise of Jab We Met: The year 2007 began with a setback for Shahid Kapoor, as his first release, the ensemble comedy “Fool & Final,” failed to garner success at the box office. However, the tides turned with his second release that year—the Imtiaz Ali-directed romantic comedy “Jab We Met.” This film, co-starring Kareena Kapoor, not only proved to be one of the top-grossing films of the year but also marked a significant turning point in Shahid’s career.

Jab We Met – A Game-Changer: In “Jab We Met,” Shahid Kapoor played the role of a troubled businessman whose life takes a transformative turn after an encounter with a vivacious girl on a train. Imtiaz Ali saw in Shahid the potential for a more complex character, deviating from his previous roles. The film received widespread acclaim, with the BBC describing Kapoor as “endearing” and CNN-IBN noting his “indelible impression” in a film primarily dominated by Kareena Kapoor. This performance earned Shahid his first nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Actor.

Kaminey and Critical Acclaim: Shahid Kapoor continued to explore diverse roles, and in 2009, he collaborated with Vishal Bhardwaj in the critically acclaimed action film “Kaminey.” In this movie, Kapoor portrayed twin brothers, each with a unique speech impediment. To prepare for the roles, he met speech specialists and delved into research on the medical and mental aspects of the conditions. The film was a commercial success, earning over ₹700 million (US$8.8 million) worldwide, and Kapoor’s performance received widespread acclaim. Rediff.com even labeled it the best performance by a Bollywood actor in 2009.

Commercial Fluctuations and Varied Roles: The years that followed brought a mix of commercial fluctuations and diverse roles for Shahid Kapoor. While his role as a cricketer in “Dil Bole Hadippa!” (2009) failed to make a mark commercially, Kapoor continued to explore different genres.

In 2010, Kapoor starred in “Chance Pe Dance,” a comedy-drama about a struggling actor, which received mixed reviews. He also appeared in “Badmaash Company,” a Yash Raj Films production, where his look earned praise but the film faced criticism. The romantic comedy “Milenge Milenge” (2010) marked his fourth collaboration with Kareena Kapoor but failed to leave a significant impact.

Mausam, Commercial Flop, and Reflection: Shahid Kapoor, driven by a personal connection, starred in his father’s directorial venture “Mausam” (2011). The film, set over a decade, was considered Kapoor’s “dream project,” and he dedicated two years to its completion. Despite Kapoor’s commitment and the effort to portray an air force pilot, the film failed to resonate with the audience and became a box office flop. Kapoor later expressed regret for dedicating substantial time to the project.

Teri Meri Kahaani, Phata Poster Nikhla Hero, and R… Rajkumar: In the subsequent years, Kapoor’s films, including “Teri Meri Kahaani” (2012) and “Phata Poster Nikhla Hero” (2013), received mixed reviews and struggled at the box office. However, in 2013, Kapoor starred in Prabhu Deva’s action film “R… Rajkumar,” which, despite negative critical reception, became his highest-grossing release at that point, earning over ₹995 million (US$12 million) worldwide. Kapoor faced burn injuries during a stunt sequence in the film.

Conclusion of a Chapter: This period in Shahid Kapoor’s career showcased his resilience to explore diverse roles, including critically acclaimed performances, while also navigating through commercial highs and lows. The journey was marked by successes, setbacks, and a continuous evolution in Kapoor’s approach to his craft. Little did he know that more significant achievements and challenges awaited him in the years to come.

Shahid Kapoor: Established Actor and Film Controversies (2014–2019)

Haider – A Complex Journey: Shahid Kapoor’s journey from 2014 to 2019 was marked by compelling performances, critical acclaim, and a fair share of controversies. In 2014, Kapoor collaborated once again with director Vishal Bhardwaj for the film “Haider,” an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet set in the backdrop of the Kashmir conflict. Kapoor, who played the titular role, went to great lengths for the character, shaving his head and learning a Kashmiri dialect. “Haider” received critical acclaim but stirred controversy for its portrayal of the conflict in Kashmir, facing scrutiny from Indian nationalists. Kapoor’s dedication earned him several awards, including the Filmfare Award for Best Actor.

Shaandaar and Udta Punjab: The following years saw a mix of highs and lows for Kapoor. “Shaandaar” (2015), opposite Alia Bhatt, was a critical and commercial failure. However, Kapoor bounced back with “Udta Punjab” (2016), a crime drama shedding light on substance abuse in Punjab. Playing a drug-abusing rock star, Kapoor, a teetotaler, faced challenges in portraying addiction convincingly. The film courted controversy due to its portrayal of Punjab, with the Central Board of Film Certification demanding extensive censorship. The legal battle ended with the Bombay High Court allowing the film’s release with minor cuts. Kapoor’s performance earned him the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor.

Rangoon and Padmaavat: Kapoor’s collaboration with Vishal Bhardwaj continued in “Rangoon” (2017), where he played a taciturn soldier in a World War II-era romance. Despite mixed reviews, Kapoor’s mature performance was acknowledged. The film, however, failed to perform well commercially. The period drama “Padmaavat” (2018), directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, faced intense controversies with allegations of distorting historical facts. Kapoor played the role of Rawal Ratan Singh, a 14th-century Rajput ruler. Despite criticism for the film’s adherence to regressive patriarchal norms, “Padmaavat” emerged as Kapoor’s biggest commercial success.

Batti Gul Meter Chalu and Kabir Singh: In 2018, Kapoor starred in “Batti Gul Meter Chalu,” addressing electricity issues in rural India. The film faced production challenges but garnered a lukewarm response. The following year, Kapoor took on the challenging role of Kabir Singh in the remake of the Telugu film “Arjun Reddy.” The film, while facing criticism for its portrayal of misogyny, became a massive commercial success, earning over ₹3.7 billion (US$46 million) worldwide. Kapoor’s intense performance earned him another Best Actor nomination at Filmfare.

Reflections on a Dynamic Period: Shahid Kapoor’s journey during this period showcased his versatility as an actor, tackling diverse roles and navigating through controversies. From the complex narrative of “Haider” to the controversial yet successful “Kabir Singh,” Kapoor proved his mettle as a performer willing to take on challenging characters. The period was marked by critical acclaim, commercial successes, and an ongoing evolution in Kapoor’s career, setting the stage for the next chapter in his Bollywood journey.

Shahid Kapoor: Hiatus and Streaming Projects (2020–Present)

Jersey: A Comeback Attempt: After a three-year hiatus from the silver screen, Shahid Kapoor returned with the sports drama “Jersey” (2022), a remake of the Telugu film of the same name. The film revolves around a former cricketer attempting a comeback in his late 30s. Kapoor’s dedication to the role led to an injury during a cricket sequence, requiring 13 stitches on his forehead. Despite the setback and multiple delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Kapoor received praise for his credibility as a cricketer in the film, although it did not perform well commercially.

Venturing into Streaming with Farzi and Bloody Daddy: In 2014, Kapoor was initially offered the lead role in “Farzi,” a crime drama film by Raj & DK. However, by the end of the decade, the project evolved into a streaming series, a format Kapoor was eager to explore. “Farzi” was eventually released on Amazon Prime Video in 2023, with Kapoor portraying Sunny, a disillusioned artist turned counterfeit money maker. Despite concerns about his age for the role, Kapoor was praised for reining in his tendency for bombast and delivering a performance that complemented the character’s vanity.

Bloody Daddy and Digital Releases: Eager to delve into intense action, Kapoor accepted Ali Abbas Zafar’s offer to star in “Bloody Daddy,” a remake of the French film “Sleepless Night” (2011). Filmed in just 36 days amid the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the movie was digitally released on JioCinema to bypass potential censorship issues in a theatrical release. Reviews for both the film and Kapoor’s performance were deemed “adequate” and “serviceable” by NDTV and Rediff.com. Despite the mixed critical reception, both “Farzi” and “Bloody Daddy” garnered strong viewership, with the former becoming the most-watched Indian streaming series to date.

Upcoming Projects: Looking ahead, Shahid Kapoor has intriguing projects lined up. He is set to star in “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya,” a romantic comedy that explores the dynamics between a man and a robot, with Kriti Sanon as his co-star. Additionally, Kapoor will don the role of a cop in Rosshan Andrrews’ action thriller “Deva,” showcasing his versatility across genres. As Kapoor continues to embrace the digital landscape, his streaming ventures add a new dimension to his already diverse career. Fans eagerly await his upcoming releases, anticipating yet another chapter in the actor’s ever-evolving journey in the world of cinema.

Shahid Kapoor: Beyond the Silver Screen – Personal Life and Off-Screen Contributions

Romantic Turmoil and Privacy: Shahid Kapoor’s personal life has often been under the spotlight of tabloid reporting in India. His relationship with Kareena Kapoor during the filming of “Fida” in 2004 became the talk of the town. The couple publicly acknowledged their romance, but a scandal erupted when pictures of them kissing in public surfaced. Despite the couple’s claims of fabrication, the incident stirred controversy. They eventually separated in 2007 during the making of “Jab We Met.” Since then, Kapoor chose to keep his personal life away from media scrutiny, although tabloids continued to speculate about his relationships with other actresses.

Mira Rajput and Family: In March 2015, Kapoor revealed his impending marriage to Mira Rajput, a university student from New Delhi, 13 years his junior. Reports suggested that they met through the Dharmic religious group Radha Soami Satsang Beas. The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in Gurgaon on 7 July 2015. Their family expanded with the birth of their daughter Misha in August 2016 and their son Zain in September 2018.

Beyond Acting: Apart from his acting prowess, Kapoor extends his talents to the stage and hosting award ceremonies. In 2006, he embarked on a world tour named RockStars, showcasing his performance skills alongside Bollywood luminaries such as Kareena Kapoor, John Abraham, and Salman Khan. Kapoor has co-hosted several prestigious award ceremonies, including the Screen Awards and the International Indian Film Academy Awards, displaying his versatility as an entertainer.

Vegetarianism and Social Causes: Kapoor practices vegetarianism, crediting author Brian Hines’ book “Life is Fair” for influencing this lifestyle choice. Beyond his personal choices, he actively supports charitable organizations. In 2010, he participated in Superstars Ka Jalwa, a charity event aiding Cine and Television Artists Association (CINTAA) employees. Kapoor also lent his support to Swayamsiddh, an NGO assisting children with special needs.

In 2011, he adopted three villages as part of NDTV’s Greenathon initiative to promote environmental awareness and improve electricity supplies to rural areas. Kapoor played a pivotal role in reviving the Victory Arts Foundation NGO in 2012, founded by Shiamak Davar, which focuses on helping underprivileged children through dance therapy programs. Additionally, he collaborated with other Bollywood celebrities in Zoya Akhtar’s short film “Because My World Is Not The Same,” raising awareness about breast cancer. Kapoor advocates for animal rights, supporting the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) organization through advertisement campaigns.

Shahid Kapoor’s off-screen contributions reflect his commitment to social causes and showcase a multi-faceted personality beyond the glitz and glamour of the film industry.

Shahid Kapoor’s Public Image: A Complex Portrait

Diverse Perceptions: Shahid Kapoor’s public image is a nuanced amalgamation of contrasting descriptions. Journalist Dave Besseling portrayed him as a “friendly, chirpy, affable frat-boy type,” someone enjoyable to spend a Sunday playing video games with but perhaps not the first choice for a protective sibling.[145] However, certain media outlets have labeled him a recluse, describing him as arrogant and temperamental. This perceived media image reportedly hindered some filmmakers from approaching him for roles, as mentioned by Vickey Lalwani of Mumbai Mirror in 2012.[146] Kapoor, acknowledging this perception, stated that his limited socializing and reserved demeanor might contribute to being seen as a snob.[146]

Career Trajectory and Persona: Bollywood Hungama analyzed Kapoor’s career, highlighting his initial “boy next door persona” as initially perceived by critics as a weakness. However, Kapoor turned it into a trademark and defied typecasting by taking on diverse roles in crime dramas and action films. His refusal to be easily categorized contributed to a fluctuating career trajectory. After a decline following the success of “Jab We Met” (2007) and “Kaminey” (2009), Kapoor described the subsequent phase as a series of “wrong choices.” He believes that taking on the challenging role in “Haider” (2014) helped him reinvent himself and establish a strong presence in Bollywood.[148][149]

Author Koral Dasgupta notes in her book “Power of a Common Man” that Kapoor does not conform to fixed industry rules. Despite a lopsided success ratio at the box office, he remains popular among audiences.[151]

Sex Symbol and Celebrity Status: Considered one of the most attractive male celebrities in India, Kapoor regularly features in the British magazine Eastern Eye’s listing of the “50 Sexiest Asian Men in the World.” He topped the list in 2017 and ranked fourth in 2012 and 2013.[155][156][157][158] His popularity extends to being ranked among the most desirable men in India by The Times of India and being named the sexiest vegetarian man of India and Asia-Pacific by PETA in 2009 and 2011, respectively.[159][162][163]

Kapoor’s wax figure at Madame Tussauds Singapore, unveiled in 2019, attests to his global appeal. He is also a celebrity ambassador for various brands and products, including Samsung, Elf Aquitaine, and Colgate.[166][167]

Social Media Influence: With a significant following on Twitter and Instagram, Kapoor leverages social media to connect with his fans and share glimpses of his personal and professional life.[152][153]

Shahid Kapoor’s public image is a multifaceted construct, shaped by both his cinematic choices and his interactions with the media, showcasing a complex blend of charm, reserve, and reinvention.

Crowd Management Challenges Emerge in Ayodhya as Devotees Flock to Newly Consecrated Ram Temple

Crowd Management Challenges Emerge in Ayodhya as Devotees Flock to Newly Consecrated Ram Temple

Ayodhya, India – In the aftermath of the consecration of the new Ram Lalla idol, Ayodhya found itself grappling with significant challenges in crowd management as a sea of devotees thronged the gates of the Ram Mandir complex on Tuesday. The temple had opened its doors to the public following the consecration ceremony, marking a historic event led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Crowd Management Challenges Emerge in Ayodhya as Devotees Flock to Newly Consecrated Ram Temple

Reports suggest that the Uttar Pradesh Police faced difficulties in controlling the overwhelming number of devotees who had queued up since late Monday night. The situation prompted Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to express his displeasure with the administration and police, leading him to conduct an aerial survey to assess the crowd management efforts.

Approximately 2.5 to 3 lakh devotees managed to take darshan of Ram Lalla on Tuesday, with a similar number patiently awaiting their turn. Despite the deployment of over 8000 security personnel, including police and paramilitary forces, challenges persisted in ensuring a smooth flow of devotees.

Senior officials, including UP Principal Secretary Home Sanjay Prasad and Special DG Law and Order Prashant Kumar, were present inside the Ram Temple to monitor the situation closely. The sanctum sanctorum, or ‘Garbha Griha,’ hosted the presence of SSP (Ayodhya), Ayodhya Divisional Commissioner, and other senior officers to enhance arrangements.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya urged Ram Bhakts not to rush and emphasized the eternal presence of Ram Lalla at his birthplace. He assured devotees that all necessary arrangements had been made for darshan, encouraging patience and information gathering about the crowd.

As the grand event unfolded, the Chief Minister’s dissatisfaction with the crowd management efforts highlights the complexity of handling such massive gatherings. The local administration is tirelessly working to provide continuous darshan to the devotees, with hopes of overcoming the current challenges.

In the wake of these developments, the nation eagerly watches as Ayodhya navigates the post-consecration phase, striving to uphold the significance of this monumental occasion in India’s cultural and religious history.

Tragic Loss of Army Personnel Highlights Silent Heart Attack Concerns

The incident unfolded on a Sunday afternoon as Banskar, who was posted in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, had gone to play cricket in the neighbouring village Birau. His elder brother, Jagdish Banskar, revealed that Vinod complained of chest pain during the game.

Immediately following the heart attack, Banskar was rushed to Tikamgarh’s district hospital by his family members. Tragically, despite medical efforts, he passed away later that night.

Vinod Banskar, expected to resume duty in the first week of February, was on leave at the time of the incident. Dr Yogesh Yadav of the district hospital confirmed that the cause of death was a heart attack.

Silent heart attacks may exhibit symptoms such as persistent and unexplained fatigue, sudden breathlessness, mild discomfort in the arms, neck, jaw, or back, persistent nausea with lightheadedness or dizziness, and unrelated profuse sweating.

This tragic occurrence underscores the importance of raising awareness about silent heart attacks and the necessity of prompt medical intervention, particularly among the younger population. Tension Escalates as Assam CM Orders Case Against Rahul Gandhi for Crowd Provocation

Tension Escalates as Assam CM Orders Case Against Rahul Gandhi for Crowd Provocation

In a dramatic turn of events, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has instructed the police to file a case against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for allegedly provoking the crowd during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. The Yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi, faced disruptions as it attempted to enter Guwahati on Tuesday, leading to protests by Congress workers who broke barricades and raised slogans.

Tension Escalates as Assam CM Orders Case Against Rahul Gandhi for Crowd Provocation

The police, having set up barricades at two locations to prevent the Yatra from entering the city, resorted to using force to control the situation. The Yatra, having entered Meghalaya on Monday, returned to Assam for its final leg, navigating through the outskirts of Guwahati.

Addressing the situation, Chief Minister Sarma condemned the disruption and accused Rahul Gandhi of employing “naxalite tactics,” which he deemed alien to Assamese culture. Sarma, in a statement, declared, “I have instructed DGP Assam Police to register a case against your leader Rahul Gandhi for provoking the crowd and use the footage you have posted on your handles as evidence.”

The tensions escalated when Indian Youth Congress National president Srinivas BV shared a video highlighting the police action against the crowd. He alleged a conspiracy to hinder Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, pledging not to let it happen. The Congress leader responded, saying, “Use as many sticks as you want… this war will continue now.”

Rahul Gandhi later addressed party supporters on the outskirts of Guwahati, asserting, “We have broken barricades, but will not break the law.” He acknowledged the police’s efforts and clarified that their fight was against the allegedly corrupt Chief Minister, not the police force.

As the political tensions continue to rise, both sides are holding their ground, with Rahul Gandhi expressing confidence in defeating the BJP in Assam and forming a Congress government in the near future. The case filed against Rahul Gandhi adds another layer to the ongoing political saga, leaving the state’s political landscape in a state of heightened anticipation.
