Yashasvi Jaiswal has been the top Indian batsman in the series. He has hit two big scores of 200 or more in the current series against England. Now, he’s matched the record set by Rahul Dravid and Virat Kohli in this series.

Yashasvi Jaiswal achieves a big milestone in Test series against England, just like Virat Kohli and Rahul Dravid did before.

In the ongoing India vs England Test series, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s exceptional performance continues to shine brightly. In the fourth Test match, he added another feather to his cap by scoring a half-century in the first innings. Jaiswal’s consistent run-scoring has been remarkable throughout the five-match series, with his standout performances being two double centuries. This extraordinary achievement has propelled him into the record books alongside legendary Indian cricketers Virat Kohli and Rahul Dravid, marking a significant milestone in his burgeoning career.

Following in the footsteps of legendary batsmen like Dravid and Kohli, the emerging talent, Yashasvi Jaiswal, has now etched his name in Indian cricket history as only the third Indian player to amass over 600 runs in a Test series against England. Despite his young age, Jaiswal’s remarkable achievement is highlighted by his resilient knock of 73 runs in the first innings, which has contributed to his total tally of 618 runs. Notably, Virat Kohli holds the top spot among Indian batsmen in this regard, having scored 655 runs against England in a Test series. Meanwhile, Dravid, now serving as the current Indian coach, finds himself overtaken by Jaiswal’s remarkable feat, as his previous record stood at 602 runs against the English side.

Most runs by an Indian against England in a Test series:

Virat Kohli: 655 runs in 2016/17 series

Rahul Dravid: 602 runs in 2022 series

Virat Kohli: 593 runs in 2018 series

Vijay Manjrekar: 586 runs in 1961/62 series

Jaiswal has shattered records for fun in the ongoing series. After his 214* in the third Test in Rajkot, Jaiswal became the third Indian to hit double centuries in back-to-back Test matches. His double ton came in the second innings, making him the third youngest in the world to hit reach 200 in the second reply.

During the 4th Test against England, Jaiswal looked positive throughout his innings. He scored 73 runs in 117 balls including eight boundaries and one six, which came off Shoaib Bashir. However, Bashir got him with a ball that stayed much lower to ricochet to the stumps off Jaiswal’s bat.
